For 2013 we are offering Traditional 10-hour classes monthly from May through November. 4-hour follow-up classes for On-Line and Home-Study students are offered monthly from February through November. Classes will be held at:
The Elk's Lodge
6446 Riverside Blvd.
Sacramento, CA 95831
Classes at the Sacramento Valley Shooting Center are on hold pending classroom availability.
Traditional 10-hour classes are two day classes beginning at 9:a.m. on Saturday until between 4:p.m. and 5:p.m. with the Sunday class beginning at 8:a.m. until about 11:a.m., depending upon how long students need to complete a 100 question written examination.
On-Line and Home-Study 4-hour follow-up classes are held on Sundays beginning at 8:a.m. until approximately Noon, depending upon how long students need to complete a 100 question written examination. For a list of the On-Line course providers approved by the Department of Fish and Game (DFG) please visit their website at www.dfg.ca.gov. On-Line students will need to provide us with written proof of completion. Please contact us for information and materials related to Home-Study.
Pre-Registration and Pre-Payment are required to regulate class sizes due to DFG limitations on both the minimum and maximum number of students we can accommodate.
The Class Fee is $10 per student to cover the actual cost of providing these classes. This fee is subject to adjustment later in the year in order that we can match income with expenses for the year. In addition, each student will need the last four digits of their Social Security Numbers to complete class related paperwork.
We are DFG Certified Hunter Education Instructors (HEI) providing these classes as volunteers. If you are interested in becoming an HEI please contact us with any questions and for assistance.
Students who receive a score of 80%, or better, on the 100 question written examination at end of class will be issued a California Hunter Education Certificate of Completion at the class. Students who are not successful will be required to take the class, and the written test, again.
